About
Tony Savino has an extensive background in woodworking. At the young age of 14 he learned many of his skills working for one of the best finish carpenters in the area. As he progressed through school he attended many shop classes in junior high and high school including woodworking. He and his wife to be built their kitchen table before they were married, and made some additional furniture still in his home.
Starting his working career he managed the maintenance department at a packaging company where he, and his team, built specialized equipment to manufacture products.
At the age of 24 he took a leading role at a different company where he, again, managed a maintenance department. This company had an ever changing product line, and (mostly wooden) production fixtures were needed for every new project. In his 30’s he attended Gateway Technical College and earned an Associate Degree, and once completed, he attended Upper Iowa University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree (both degrees with honors).
With the added education he took on new roles in managing staff including the shop, the warehouse, and material handlers. He then took on production management. The production management position worked with just about every type of manufacturing processes, and the skills to bring those processes together to complete project was a fun endeavor. His final position "working for some other company" role he worked as an Operations Manager for four years.
Retirement just wasn’t for Tony, so he started making acoustic guitars. Learning from many sources he made his first guitar and gave it to his daughter for her birthday. A dear friend,
Jeff Klyzub, taught him many things about guitars, and did quality checks to help Tony learn from any small issues on the first couple guitars. Andrew Madsen also had a hand in my learning about building guitars. Tony has done some guitar repair work, too.
On July 31, 2023, A. R. Savino guitars were delivered to his first distributor The Music Café, 105 Fox St., Mukwonago, WI 53149. Only two days after delivering two guitars, one sold two days later on August 2.
Tony has handcrafted special order custom Dreadnought and Orchestra Model acoustic guitars for clients, and also handcrafts stock guitars for sale in Sturtevant, and at the Music Café in Mukwonago.
Let Tony build one for you!
Sustainabiltiy Project:
Trees are planted to add back natural resourses for the future. Trees have been planted countries in which represent the woods selected for the builds. Some of the locations in which we have had trees planted include US National Forest, British Columbia, Honduras, Tanzania, and India. Over 25 trees planted at this point, and more to come.
